These terms govern your use of Blue Ridge Press LLC’s consent-based verification services. By requesting a check, you agree to them.
1. What the service is
We verify professional references, past employment, and education, at the source, after the candidate’s written consent. We deliver a report of what we were able to confirm as of the report date.
2. Permitted use
You may use our reports only for a lawful, permissible purpose you have disclosed to the candidate — such as evaluating them for employment, a tenancy, or a volunteer or care role — and only with their authorization. You agree to comply with all applicable employment, tenant-screening, and privacy laws.
3. Prohibited use
- No checks on a person who has not consented.
- No use for stalking, harassment, or any unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful purpose.
- No reselling, republishing, or using a report for a purpose other than the one disclosed to the candidate.
4. Scope and accuracy
Our reports reflect information confirmed by the named sources as of the report date. Sources may decline to respond or may be mistaken. A report is one input to your decision — not a guarantee, endorsement, or complete account of any person. We are not a consumer-reporting agency and do not provide criminal, credit, or driving records.
5. No warranty
The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and do not warrant that every source will respond or that confirmations are error-free.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the check at issue. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for hiring, tenancy, or other decisions you make.
7. Fees
Fees are as quoted at the time of your request and are due as invoiced. Published prices may change; the price that applies is the one shown when you place a request.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
