Privacy Policy

Your privacy, plainly stated.

Blue Ridge Press LLC (“we,” “us”) provides consent-based verification of professional references, past employment, and education. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we handle it.

1. Information we collect

  • From the requester (our client): your name, business, and contact details, and the details of the person you ask us to verify.
  • From the candidate: the identifying details needed to run the check, the references and past employers/schools they provide, and their e-signed authorization (with a timestamp).
  • From the sources: the confirmations a reference, employer, or registrar chooses to provide.

2. The consent basis

We do not contact any source, or begin any check, until the candidate has reviewed a plain-language disclosure and provided written, e-signed authorization. That authorization — and the exact disclosure it covered — is retained as our record of consent.

3. How we use information

We use it solely to perform the verification you requested and to deliver the resulting report to you, the requesting party. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build profiles or for advertising.

4. What we do not do

We do not collect criminal, credit, or motor-vehicle records; we are not a consumer-reporting agency. We do not scrape social media or purchase third-party background files. Where regulated records are needed, we refer you to a properly credentialed agency.

5. Sharing

The completed report is shared only with the requesting party. We share information with service providers (such as our e-signature and email tools) only as needed to run the check, and when required by law.

6. Retention

We keep consent records and completed reports only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete them. You may request deletion of a report and its records; where we are the data processor for a client, we honor the client’s instructions.

7. Your choices

Candidates may decline to authorize a check, and any source may decline to respond. Candidates and clients may ask what we hold about them, request corrections, or request deletion, by contacting us.
